is a ball-hawking defensive back with an instinctual feel for the game, thriving in Baldwin County’s defensive schemes. He has a great ability to read plays and position himself for big stops, whether he’s in coverage or rushing the passer. Johnson’s agility and speed enable him to cover ground quickly, allowing him to shadow receivers and break up plays. He’s also strong against the run, with the ability to shed blocks and make tackles in open space. Koby’s natural leadership and poise make him a standout player on the field.

is a linearly built DB prospect with alignment versatility and fantastic instincts. He hovers around 6’0 and looks to have enough length to play on the perimeter. He is best playing with depth, where he patiently gets into his backpedal and most comfortably diagnoses routes and reads the QB. He is like a panther, sneaking up on WRs and pouncing on his prey, which in this case is him jumping routes. He is a magnet to the football, visibly accelerating to another speed when making a play on the ball. He doesn’t have much press on tape and doesn’t look as clean when turning his hips to run and battle vertically. However, he does track the ball well and does a good job of getting a paw in the air to play the ball. As he adds more weight, he should be able to play on the line more consistently. I think Johnson will eventually move to S, where he can track the ball and keep the action in front of him.

had himself a phenomenal junior season last fall at Baldwin County- he’s a well rounded DB that has played very well in their secondary over the last few years. Johnson has a lot of athleticism, he has terrific speed, takes great angles, and anticipates passes extremely well. With that anticipation comes picks, Johnson is able to easily bait opposing quarterbacks into bad throws that he capitalizes off of frequently. When not playing the pass, Johnson is a willing tackler that can get a lot of work done against the run. Last fall, Johnson was able to make a lot of plays out in coverage as well as against the run, and all of that showed up on tape with his 21 total tackles, 5 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery last fall. With that level of production and those skills, Johnson has been receiving a lot of attention from teams at the next level. Recently, he has picked up offers from schools like Jacksonville State- keep an eye on him this fall as he’s sure to add more!
