About Kellen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a tough, physical lineman on both sides of the ball for Edgerton High School. I have good size and strength and am a two-way varsity lineman. I play with a high motor and a relentless attitude, consistently blocking to the whistle and trying to set the tone in the trenches. Defensively, I line up as both a defensive end and tackle and use my size and strength to plug running lanes.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the field I feel that I'm a relentless competitor and my goal is to make the guy across from me want to quit. I'm a quiet leader with a good sense of humor and love being part of the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I've been on the honor roll academically. I lettered in track, throwing shot and discuss. I have also played baseball, wrestled, and bowled.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead by example and try to do things the right way. I work hard to get better and respect my coaches and teammates, which I believe makes me a good teammate. I have done some community service with my parents and the football team, which has helped me appreciate my good fortune.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I tore my meniscus during my freshman football season and ended up having surgery and doing rehab. With hard work and dedication, I was back to full strength before the start of my sophomore season and have had no issues since.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that I can play football at, no matter the level. I love the game and will play at whatever level I get the opportunity. While I'd prefer a four-year college and to be close to home, it's not a requirement. I'm currently undecided on my college major.

Kellen was a difference maker in the trenches for Edgerton. He is very quick at getting off of the ball and can push back his defender multiple yards down the field. At his center position, Kellen can maul the opposing defensive player to open up gaping holes in the run game. He has the balance and agility that you want in a center to block north and south in the run game. In pass protection, Kellen rarely let his defender pass by and helped keep his QB clean in the pocket. He is built to play at the next level and I am super excited to see Kellen progress in the playoffs and offseason.
