Smith had a stellar sophomore campaign, finishing with 52 tackles on the year, including two tackles for loss. He also added a sack, a pass breakup and an astonishing four forced fumbles on the year. While this is about linebackers, he also led the team in rushing yards (830) and touchdowns (12) to further emphasize his versatility and value headed into his junior season. He has also bulked up to 225 pounds.

out of Currituck County is one of the top sophomore backs in the 252. He finished just under 1,000 rushing yards with 12 touchdowns, showing consistent production against strong competition. Playing in a tough conference makes his numbers even more impressive, and his film backs it up—Smith has the ability to score from anywhere on the field and is a name to keep a close eye on moving forward.
A two-way player, we may eventually make linebacker Smith’s primary position in our system. For now, we like him as a bigger, bruising running back with occasional big-play potential. He’s at his best as he gets closer to the end zone and he’s not afraid to run through would-be tacklers on his way to a score.
