Clayborn is an offensive chess piece that can be a catalyst for an offense. His dynamic cutting skills, fluid hips, and lateral burst allow him to create in space and make defenders look silly. This, in addition to his long speed, makes him a threat as an explosive play anytime he has the ball in his hands. These ball-carrying instincts and plus athleticism give him the liberty to line up anywhere and be good for 10-15 yards a touch.
As a receiver, he has an expanded catch radius and can win above the rim despite not having a traditional frame for a No. 1 receiver. Don’t let the wiry frame fool you; he still has strength at the catch point and shows toughness with decent contact balance to find yards through arm tackles. Clayborn projects as a true three-down weapon who can fit in any scheme while impacting the game from multiple alignments
“Clayborn is a beast with the ball in his hands. He’s incredibly fast, has terrific burst and acceleration, and can navigate the field really well with his vision and elusiveness. Once Clayborn turns upfield, good luck stopping him. He has a rare amount of explosiveness with the ball that consistently humiliates opposing defenses.
I think Clayborn is best used out of the backfield. He’s terrific at running the ball, using his size, speed, and contact balance to maximize every carry on the ground, constantly creating explosive plays for his offense.”
I was blown away by Clayborn’s tape. He’s a really versatile and talented prospect with a big year ahead here in 2026. Be sure to check out some of his film below:
Clayborn is the definition of a modern offensive chess piece. He’s explosive on one-cut actions in space and consistently makes defenders miss with fluid change of direction. His long speed allows him to finish plays once he breaks free, turning short touches into splash plays.
As a receiver, Clayborn brings real value—strong catch radius, vertical explosion, and the ability to win contested balls despite not being overly bulky. He’s also tougher than his frame suggests, slipping through arm tackles and creating problems for defenses trying to match him in space.
