He was a top five performer for the quarterbacks at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January and followed it up with a solid showing at the Elite 11 Regional. He’s a very good athlete which doesn’t always show up in a camp setting and the ball comes out of his hand nicely.

Runkle was in the MVP conversation and made some of the better throws of the day.
He did very well in the speed tests and was a top 10 finisher in multiple of the tests. His athleticism doesn’t shine as much in a camp setting like this but his footwork was solid and the ball jumps out of his hand.

Runkle put his name on the radar with his strong sophomore season after transferring from Granite Hills to Christian. He’s a savvy, athletic passer that can improvise off-schedule and make mobile plays outside the pocket. Slick runner with the ball in his hands that can pick up yards in chunks and is efficient getting the ball out on-time with a tight release. Quick and decisive with his reads in the RPO action and shows good pocket awareness avoiding the rush. Runkle has drawn some interest from D-I programs and could see his first offer come in with another productive season in the fall.
