Smith displays good footwork in his backpedal with good fluidity within the hips to transition consistently and stick with his man. Stays inside the hip pocket on breaks due to good COD, lateral agility, balance, and burst, not allowing any room for separation. He knows how to fill gaps and make a tackle in space.
