Rusk is a talented and versatile hybrid tight end. His combo of athleticism and ability to block make him somewhat of a rare get. As a receiver he can line up and make plays from both the inline or the outside positions. For his size Rusk possesses good change of direction and ability to make explosive breaks in his routes. He’s a natural hands catcher who has the ability to go up and get it. In the run game Julius plays with an edge as a skilled blocker who loves to finish. A lot of times hybrid tight ends need a lot of work in run blocking because they’ve spent most of their time split outside. That’s not the case with Rusk, he can be an impact player both as a receiver and a blocker. I’ve also seen him play basketball live he’s a motivated and competitive player. Rusk is a player I could easily see blowing up this offseason.

Julius had a very good Junior season in 2024. His great play helped the Butler Aviators to a 9-win season where they averaged 26.8 points per game and advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He lines up out wide. He displays good football intelligence as he reads the coverage and finds the soft spot in the zone before showing great hands as he makes the catch. After the catch is made, he displays excellent contact balance and power as he drags multiple defenders before picking up a first down.
