For as much as Renrick (pictured) is starting to look like a true college middle linebacker, he’s expanding his own footprint at the high school level with his pass-rushing skills. After compiling three sacks and 21 tackles (and no tackles for loss) up as a sophomore at JL Mann, he transferred to Greenville and immediately put up some excellent numbers.
In Year 1 with the Raiders, he finished with 58 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He also picked off a pass, knocked down a couple more and recovered a fumble. Again, no slouch figures there.
Renrick goes back and forth between a standing edge spot and putting his hand on the ground, and the results are often the same despite the different looks. His speed and upper body strength are giving him a clear advantage on the edge against slower tackles who can’t extend far enough or bend enough to prevent him from getting into he backfield.
