We have already talked about Josiah a few times since the start of the 2025 season. The freshman was all over the field for the Whitnall JV, playing QB, DB, RB, and punter along with returning kicks also. That variety of roles is viable because the 5’11” 170 lbs 2029 is so athletic. His tape shows the top end speed to make the big chunk plays, the sudden agility to play tight coverage or make guys miss in tight spaces. Torres also has some really good ball skills. The tape shows a young playmaker who has that special knack for making things happen. I can’t wait to see it carry over to Friday nights.

Josiah is proving to be a versatile weapon early in his career. His freshman highlights show an athlete who plays DB, QB, and returns kicks. Not a trio that you usually see, but Josiah has the unique skill set to do those things. First and foremost is the natural athleticism to be able to make big plays happen with the ball in his hand and also to be able to turn and run with receivers on defense. I got so caught up in the natural athleticism that I was caught off guard when the highlights showed him zipping the ball around the field. Torres is definitely on the path towards playing on Friday nights. I’m excited to see at what positions.

. The now 5’10” 165 lbs 2029 is a kid that is showing great dedication to his craft. There are plenty of examples of his offseason work from the summer. His focus on footwork and overall mobility, throwing on the move, and also getting the ball out quickly from the pocket will make him very effective on the lower level teams this fall. Watching through his clips you will see a unique throwing motion, but the ball comes out in a tight spiral and the accuracy is strong to the different levels of the field. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop mechanically and how he grows over the next 4 years.
