Josiah Gilmore has the potential to be a strong up-and-coming tailback for Carmel. While he can run between the tackles effectively, he is a very good off-tackle runner. He is very good when he gets in space, flashing ability to make defenders miss in the open field. Also a decisive, one-cut-and-go runner who is strong around the goal line. Can also catch and quickly get vertical, making him a dual-threat.

Compact-framed tailback who flashes good top-end speed if he finds an opening in defenses. Not the best in pass protection from a technique standpoint, but is willing to sit, bend and hit and chip at defenders to give his QB extra time. Great downfield speed on kickoff coverage and flashes being a good open-field tackler. Key underclassman running back for the Greyhounds who looks primed for potential.

Gilmore had a solid and promising year where he got to rotate in a handful of games earlier in the season. He got his first high school TD during the season and broke a long of 68 yards when he got his chances, so there should be much more to come shortly.

is a talented running back who has excellent vision and overall feel for the position. He looks like a natural at the position and plays it very calmly. His patience and corresponding ability to flip a switch which allows him to get upfield in a hurry and attack holes. He shows above-average contact balance and gains a lot of yards after contact. He should have no problem being a three-down back through the duration of his prep football days. In addition football, Gilmore also plays basketball and runs track.
