Joshua Williams Joshua Williams 5'8" | 180 lbs | ATH Madison | 2025 State AL made a ton of plays for Madison Academy’s offense and defense over the past few seasons, especially out of the backfield as a RB last fall. Williams is explosive on the ground- he plays with a ton of speed and physicality every time he gets the ball in his hands, it’s extremely impressive to watch. Williams is capable of breaking off massive scoring plays on the ground- once he gets through the line of scrimmage he is hard to stop in the open field. Williams can easily make defenders miss, has great contact balance, and has speed that completely separates him from entire defenses. While being as dominant as he is at RB, it makes it even more impressive he’s able to make as many plays as he can on defense as well. Williams made a ton of plays on both sides of the ball last year- he ended his season with 122 carries for 1456 yards and 22 touchdowns, with an additional 24 tackles (3 for loss) and one sack on defense. Joshua Williams Joshua Williams 5'8" | 180 lbs | ATH Madison | 2025 State AL is one of the more well-rounded runners in Alabama for the 2025 class. Williams, listed at 5’8 180, isn’t a blazer nor is he a bruiser. However, every part of his game is well refined. He has enough burst and change of direction to create his own yards and find open running lanes. When he gets going downhill and is faced with contact, he runs even harder and can willfully add a few yards to the end of every run. He is an extremely balanced runner capable of staying on his feet through contact and maintaining speed while making subtle adjustments, both can be attributed to his low center of gravity and agility.
