Few players in Western PA have raised their stock more this fall than Norwin’s do-it-all playmaker, Josh Lenart Josh Lenart 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Norwin | 2026 State PA . He’s not just productive he’s relentless. Watching him live against Central Catholic’s offensive line, which features multiple Power Five talents, confirmed what the tape already showed: Lenart’s motor runs hotter than anyone on the field. He diagnoses plays instantly, takes disciplined angles, and has that classic linebacker trait you can’t coach he just finds the football.
At 6’1” with a strong build and great closing burst, he consistently knifes into the backfield, sheds blocks with violent hands, and finishes plays with bad intentions. Sideline to sideline, he’s a blur. But what separates him is his leadership and complete football IQ. He’s the heartbeat of a Norwin team that flipped its culture this season, earning a playoff berth and playing disciplined, hard-nosed ball.
Offensively, Lenart’s versatility shines lining up as an H-back, tight end, and even taking snaps at quarterback. He’s physical at the point of attack, dependable with the ball in his hands, and always willing to do the dirty work. The D2 offers are there, but this is an FCS-caliber kid who could easily contribute early in his college career. Coaches dream about players like Lenart because they know exactly what they’re getting: production, grit, and leadership.

Team Captain at Norwin. 6’2, 210 pounds. The second Norwin senior mentioned in this five-part series. Most comfortable as a backer, has substantial junior tape that should have landed him on our rankings in January. A three-year contributor who has slipped through the cracks for far too long. Has a Clarion offer under his belt.
First-three tape shows off Lenart’s understanding of offensive flow, often getting to spots on the LOS before blocker can, blowing up plays before they can develop. Next reps show Lenart can drop into coverage and watch the eyes of QBs to close passing windows. TFLs and interceptions recorded on tape. Special teams impact plays are thrown in, too. Lenart has his hands on several different phases of the game, clearly a football player with the IQ of a collegiate-level prospect. Lenart excels as a multi-faceted front-seven piece who can serve several different roles under the guidance of PSAC defensive coordinators.

Lenart is the definition of a football player, wherever you line him up he will make plays. He’s physical and sets a tone. Defensively, just three weeks into the season, his film is already filled with splash plays. He has a nose for the ball, plays fast downhill, and constantly disrupts in the backfield. Against Latrobe, he jumped a crossing route and nearly housed it, showing his instincts in coverage. On offense, he’s just as valuable. As an H-back, he’s a violent lead blocker who puts linebackers on their backs, and with the ball in his hands, he runs through tacklers. He even lined up at quarterback last year when needed, further proving he’s just a flat-out football player. Right now, he holds a Clarion offer, but with his production and versatility, he looks like an FCS-level talent at minimum. He’s a hidden gem.
