Mare also displays notable quickness and the ability to adjust his pad level on any play. Possessing the ideal size for an NCAA Division One defensive lineman, Mare’s athleticism is evident on film. In his stance, he demonstrates a good bend and an explosive launch at the snap. His up field surge and the agility of his upper body and hands are impressive. While Mare sometimes exhibits forceful hand techniques, he can also show sporadic hand placement at times. In traffic, Mare effectively completes tackles with solid wrapping. His optimal position is defensive tackle, where he can absorb double teams and leverage his lower body strength to disrupt the backfield. Mare has NCAA FBS level potential.

Mare already has the prototypical size of a Division 1 defensive lineman. Mare shows that he has athleticism that jumps off on tape. In his stance, Mare shows good pend and the ability to explode out of his stance. He shows good upfield bursts and quickness in his upper body movements and hands. I think at times he shows violence in his hands but also can be somewhat erratic in his hand placement. Mare finishes tackles in traffic where he wraps up well. Mare’s best position is at defensive tackle where he can eat double team blocks and use his lower body strength to anchor and even explode into the backfield.
