A Pennsylvania junior who currently ranks inside the top 150 of his class, Coleman posted his midseason tape just 10 hours before this writing. He has added five pounds to his frame and now stands at 165 pounds while carrying a 3.8 GPA. I applaud his effort in getting his best reps onto Hudl and Twitter promptly.

His midseason tape gives me about two and a half minutes of quality reps at wide receiver and defensive back. He can work as a flanker and can be left on an island with plenty of space to operate on his own.

He is great after the catch, although his style is more about physically breaking tackles than simply eluding defenders. His first rep has him catching a hitch, and it takes three or four defenders to finally bring him down about 20 yards beyond where he initially secured the football.

He can stretch the field and is a threat to come down with 50/50 balls. Good hand eye coordination, concentration and body control all show up throughout the tape. He often finds himself lost behind defenses and secondaries, and I mean that as a compliment. He consistently finds ways to get open 15 plus yards downfield and works well with his quarterback when plays break down. There are a few legitimate big plays on this tape because of it.

Defensively, he has a safety build and shows a willingness to contribute against the run. As long as he continues adding to his frame, he could become a serious addition to a defense’s run stopping effort.

He is a high energy player who can also work in tighter alignments. He doesn’t have to live outside the numbers as a wideout to make an impact. There is an awareness to his game, and he consistently looks conscious of what is happening around him.

So far through six games, he is proving that the high ranking we gave him before the season holds true.

Sometimes recruiting moves slower than the evaluation. That feels like the case here. He continues checking important boxes every season. The offers should eventually reflect the player.

Jonah Coleman Jonah Coleman 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB/WR Laurel Highlands | 2028 State PA is an excellent two-way athlete. He has a good size (6’1″) and runs at a high speed as well. He was used in a variety of roles on both sides of the ball. On offense, he played primarily as a wide receiver. He showed an excellent ability to catch the ball and make defenders miss in the open field. He is extremely difficult to catch in the open field with his athleticism and size. Coleman was also a playmaker on defense. Playing as both a strong safety and a free safety, he made plays all over the field. Coleman is an excellent athlete in the 2028 class.

Coleman was a baller all weekend. His ball skills are lethal, and he’s impressive after the catch as well. I see why he’s ranked just outside the top 100 in PRZ Pennsylvania.

At both positions, he shows good ball skills. He can make defenders miss easily, especially in space. He also has good speed to take short passes and make them bigger plays. Coleman has a bright future and should be an even bigger contributor next season.
