About Johnell
Expert Analysis

5’11, 180, 3.9 GPA. One of the better unoffered juniors in Pennsylvania right now, no debate. Tape shows a true two-way player with legit reps on both sides. Aggressive corner who plays with confidence and natural instincts. Offensive production proves athleticism translates, not just projection-based. Technique is ahead of most in this range, doesn’t look lost in coverage. Plays through the catch point and competes every snap. Offer-ready today, flat out. FCS schools should already be involved.

is a pure athlete. He offers special teams play, offensive play, and what I’m highlighting today, defensive play. In the corner he has range and can play inside or out in the slot or boundary. He is a feisty and quick mover, always managing to recover any lost ground. He is a good tackler and adds a ball-hawking dimension to his game. Edison is flying under the radar, but I see a kid with a high FCS ceiling.

has a bright future as a DB but is considered a Top 15 WR in the PA 2027 class right now. Edison worked out as a DB at the camp and was one of the top performers in my eyes against a talented WR group. He has quality size for a young DB and pairs that with athletic fluidity. Edison had several winning reps in both portions of 1-on-1s in the full field and during the goal line segment. He has a physical build that translates to physicality in man coverage which you could see during the camp and on his sophomore highlight tape.

is a good athlete who plays well on both sides of the ball. At wide receiver, he is an explosive athlete who can score anytime he touches the ball. He is excellent after the catch by making defenders miss in space. Then, as a defensive back, he has excellent coverage skills. He then breaks on the ball well and makes plays on the ball. He even blocked a field goal for a big play. Edison is a big-time athlete who makes plays all over the field.

could be a two-way starter for the next three years at North Hills HS. Obviously, this is predicated on who enters and leaves the program throughout that time period, point still stands. Edison, who put forth good OCB reps, specifically in run support, also proved to be a reliable screen man when deployed at WR. Edison expanding deeper into each role will either prove me right or wrong, can he be more than a run-supporting DB? Can he expand on his route tree and serve as a legitimate threat at wideout? We will see, good start so far.
