Hampton is neck and neck with other QBs ahead of him, and his traits make the case for him to jump those guys, if he ties everything together. He is a tall, athletic QB who can escape chaos and generate plays with his legs. Still, he is a patient player who plays within himself and stares down pressure in the pocket when needed. He has an over-the-top release and flashes impressive finesse, with more than functional arm strength at this stage. There are plenty of tools for Hampton to harness here.

Johnathan Hampton is a talented QB from Pelham who showed some serious skill in his freshman season.
“Hampton stands tall in the pocket at 6’2 180 and has the arm strength, accuracy, and mobility to create a ton of huge plays in Pelham’s passing game. He can push the ball downfield, has great touch and ball placement on his passes, and can throw from inside the pocket and on the move.
Hampton is great at protecting the ball. He has a tendency to get rid of it quickly, and can make throws under pressure as well, rarely taking sacks for loss. When you pair that with his arm talent, there’s a lot to be excited for with Hampton’s future. We’re going to have to keep watching him.”
