He finished with 8 catches for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rangel displayed his strength at the catch point, fighting through contact to secure the football, while also using his physicality to break tackles and create explosive plays after the catch.
Rangel is a reliable target who can physically overpower defenders and has the speed to outrun an entire defense. He continues to put on a show and should attract plenty of attention as the season continues.

John played with plenty of confidence during the scrimmage, showing good energy and making his presence felt throughout the night. He competed with a strong mindset and looked comfortable trusting his abilities on each rep. With that confidence continuing to build, John could be in line for a strong season.

On film, John primarily lines up on the outside, but I believe his skill set projects even better as a slot receiver. He has dependable hands, quick feet, and the short-area burst to create separation underneath. He’s comfortable catching the ball in traffic, gets in and out of his breaks efficiently, and has the awareness to find open space in the defense. John also plays baseball which help in the long with eye coordination.
