About John
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m a dual threat qb and equally comfortable under center as I am in shotgun. Besides my athleticism my best strengths are my competitiveness, toughness and leadership by example approach. I've competed in many high pressure situations in multiple sports and have been lucky to be around winning teams and organizations my whole life. I understand what it takes to win and expect it.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’ve always been very competitive and have played at highest levels of all sports. I’m also a shortstop for nationally ranked baseball teams. Mentally I don’t get to high or low and try to quickly get into next play. I’m very much a lead by example teammate and have a part of several State and Regional Championship teams in Football; Baseball and Basketball.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Not yet but I enjoy entrepreneurism, business and have a very curious mind.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
My leadership style comes from my work ethic. I'm always first to arrive and last to leave. I love working with my team and coaches on how we can get better and improve and be more prepared. I've been very fortunate to be part of an incredible community and support group believe everyone should be given equal chance and opportunities as anything is possible for those willing to put in the effort.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was 13 years old I broke my elbow and had to sit out an entire year. So not being able to throw as a qb or baseball player was struggle. The injury forced me to consider repeating 8th grade and work on rehab and recovery which proved to be a great choice. When I returned to football I wasn't as sharp throwing the ball so I learned to play other positions to help my team win state
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm still exploring and learning about where I would fit best. One of my sisters went to Boston College which is a small school with big sport personality while my other sister is Univ Southern Calif. I like both so final decision will likely be based on coaching staff, culture and history of school and quality of education.
