The Yale commit had a solid night on both sides of the ball during St. Ignatius’ defeat over Grayslake Central. He rushed for three touchdowns and held their receivers in check throughout the entire game. Kemp without a doubt has blazing speed, but he also displayed some of his toughness and physical running prowess as he had to fight through defenders for each of his three rushing touchdowns. He’s fluid and quick from his defensive back position and showcased he possesses great instincts to consistently disrupt passes thrown his way.

Mr. Kemp committed to Yale University at the beginning of August and showcased why he’s a top player in IL. He can work one on one in pass coverage by staying on the receiver’s hip pocket and contest the catch on deep shots downfield for pass breakups. Switching over to run support, this young man doesn’t shy away from contact as he can trigger downhill quickly to secure open field tackles in the flat limiting the chance of the ball carrier to turn the corner. Mr. Kemp is a versatile defensive back that can work across the secondary. His ability to make his impact felt in both run support and in pass coverage are one to keep an eye on this fall season. After his Junior season campaign, this young man came away with offers from Eastern Illinois University and Yale University to name a few. Most recently, he committed to Yale University to continue his career at the next level.
