Joel Peters gives Riverside an athletic option up front, and his versatility on both sides of the ball is a big reason why he’s stood out this season. Peters also sees time at linebacker for the Warriors, and the way he moves at both positions shows the quickness that separates him from many other linemen. He may lack ideal size, but he makes up for it with natural leverage, getting underneath larger defensive linemen and creating favorable angles. Peters can pull and get to the second level with ease, using his agility and quickness to move fluidly and block in space. His size will likely limit his ceiling as a college prospect, but Peters shouldn’t be overlooked.

returns after breaking into Riverside’s varsity lineup as a sophomore, giving the Warriors valuable continuity in the trenches. Like several linemen in the program, Peters doesn’t rely on size, instead using leverage and pad level to consistently compete against bigger opponents. His ability to stay underneath blockers makes him an effective blocker. With another year of experience under his belt, Peters should continue developing into one of Riverside’s more dependable trench players.

. He’s young and still physically maturing, but Peters is battling well on the Warriors’ offensive line and has stepped into a starting role on varsity as a sophomore. Being undersized right now allows Peters to play with low leverage, and it has stymied longer defensive tackles this season. His film against St. Albans in week three proves as much, where he also did a great job on double-team blocks.
