The first half of the season has given us a better look at which players are taking their game to another level. Some have been established names continuing to build their resumes, while others have emerged from the preseason as players who deserve more love. This group features offensive linemen who have raised their stock through their play, production, and development during the first half of the season.

Huntington's Tyler Avery has taken a noticeable step forward athletically as a junior, addressing the biggest area of his game that needed development. Avery has always had the size and power to stand out as one of the better 2028 OL prospects, but his feet and agility have continued to improve this season. That development has allowed him to handle tackle duties against good competition, showing a more fluid version of his game than we've seen previously. I still see Avery projecting best as a guard at the next level, but proving he can hold his own at tackle only raises his ceiling as a prospect. If he continues becoming more fluid, Avery has a chance to take another significant jump in his development.

The Elkins Wing-T has given Isaac Workman a chance to showcase what he does well, and the 2028 OL has been an important part of the Tigers' strong start to the season. Workman fits naturally at guard in their system because of his athleticism, and it shows up as a puller. He fires out of his stance quickly, blocks well in space, and works through the whistle. That ability to block on the move adds real value to Elkins' rushing attack that's produced big numbers this year. He's still an under-the-radar name in the 2028 class, but his junior film is giving college coaches more reason to start paying attention.

Hedgesville's Liam Foote showed a different side of his game last week, and the role change helped spark a much better performance from the Eagles. The 2028 OL/DL moved into an H-back role at times against Jefferson as a lead blocker, using his smaller, nimble frame and quickness to get into space and impact the running game. He excelled in that role with his physicality to spring his running backs and his athleticism to get out in front of them. Foote has always been an excellent pulling guard and will continue to see plenty of work along the offensive line, but seeing him contribute in a different role adds another layer to his value. With Hedgesville searching for ways to get its offense going, Foote's versatility could become an important part of what they do moving forward.

The left tackle spot has given us a good look at what 2028 OL Porter Tackett can bring to the Hurricane offensive line, and he's caught my attention this season. Tackett has a good 6'2 260 frame with room to continue adding size, but his feet allow him to be effective at tackle. He's shown good play strength when anchoring in pass protection and can hold his ground against pressure, while his power allows him to create consistent push in the running game. There's still room for Tackett to develop, but his combination of size, footwork, and strength makes him a quality prospect in the 2028 class to get familiar with.

The physical tools immediately stand out with Brooke's Hunter McAbee, a new 2028 OL on my radar who has a lot of upside to work with. McAbee's 6'5 240 frame gives him an excellent base to continue developing, and he's already finding success as a long guard for the Bruins. He's athletic for his size and fires off the ball quickly, creating a nice combination of explosiveness and power at the point of attack that generates good push in the running game. There are plenty of tools and potential in his game to keep developing, as McAbee is a big ball of clay right now, with intriguing physical tools that should draw college attention in the future.

Joel Peters gives Riverside an athletic option up front, and his versatility on both sides of the ball is a big reason why he's stood out this season. Peters also sees time at linebacker for the Warriors, and the way he moves at both positions shows the quickness that separates him from many other linemen. He may lack ideal size, but he makes up for it with natural leverage, getting underneath larger defensive linemen and creating favorable angles. Peters can pull and get to the second level with ease, using his agility and quickness to move fluidly and block in space. His size will likely limit his ceiling as a college prospect, but Peters shouldn't be overlooked.

Princeton has a smart and technically sound young offensive lineman in 2029 OL Aiden Robinson who's operating their explosive offense at center as a sophomore. Robinson has a strong understanding of the game that allowed him to take over a starting job as an underclassman at a top program in the state. He has a high motor and enjoys being physical, and those traits have helped him elevate his game in year two. Robinson is still early in his career, but there's a lot to like about the way he approaches the game and the skill set he has to offer.

Huntington has another young offensive lineman who's talented in 2029 OL/DL Xavier Smailes. He's made the jump to varsity and looks comfortable handling the challenge as a sophomore on both sides of the ball. He flashed on JV as a freshman and has taken a big step forward this season that's earned him a major two-way role for the Highlanders. He plays with good physicality for his age, but his quickness and agility are what really stand out for a young lineman. Smailes is still early in his development, but the combination of his physical tools and athleticism makes him an intriguing 2029 OL to watch as he continues to grow at Huntington.

He's still growing into his frame, but he already plays with a physical edge. Hayes has a high motor that gives him a strong foundation to continue developing. He's a powerful and physical athlete who consistently drives defenders off the line and creates great push that allows the running game to be productive. The first half of the season has given us a better look at which players are taking their game to another level. Some have been established names continuing to build their resumes, while others have emerged from the preseason as players who deserve more love. I still see Avery projecting best as a guard at the next level, but proving he can hold his own at tackle only raises his ceiling as a prospect. If he continues becoming more fluid, Avery has a chance to take another significant jump in his development.

The left tackle spot has given us a good look at what 2028 OL Porter Tackett can bring to the Hurricane offensive line, and he's caught my attention this season. Tackett has a good 6'2 260 frame with room to…
The physical tools immediately stand out with Brooke's Hunter McAbee, a new 2028 OL on my radar who has a lot of upside to work with. McAbee's 6'5 240 frame gives him an excellent base to continue developing, and he's…

2029 OL Jordan Hayes has quickly become a name to know at Cabell Midland, and he's showing some intriguing traits in his first varsity season. Hayes has taken over at right tackle, and his athleticism jumps out on film right…
2029 South Harrison OL Christian Ferrell has been a big reason why the Hawks have found so much success running the football this season, bringing the right mentality to an offense built around the Stick-I. Ferrell has done a great…
