Truckee’s offense will lean heavily on their senior RB Birnbaum. Birnbaum runs the ball hard and plays disciplined football. The class of 2025 RB has been a consistent playmaker for the state championship Truckee squad for the last couple of years and will look to cap off his senior year with a third ring.

Birnbaum rushed for 120 yards and 3 TDs on 17 carries in Truckee’s 49-7 win over Spring Creek. The senior RB returned from missing six games since the middle of September to produce his best game of the season. Having Birnbaum back gives a massive boost to undefeated Truckee’s offense and one of the most dynamic playmakers in 3A heading into the championship run. #1-Truckee will face #2-Churchill County in the 3A Northern championship this week.

Watching Joe Birnbaum Joe Birnbaum 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Truckee | 2025 State NV ‘s tape, he’s one of the most well-rounded backs that I’ve watched in quite some time. Being able to line up on the outside and beat a team’s best corner for a touchdown is rare for a running back, but he has that type of ability. To make matters even worse for opposing defenses, Birnbaum runs with this determination to not go down without a fight – and often wins it. The type of back that makes me wish yards after contact was a tracked stat in high school football, he has some impressive balance to take the hits he does while staying on his feet. Coming off a junior season where he averaged over 9.5 yards per carry and found his way into the endzone a whopping 23 times, Birnbaum’s a player coaches should have their eye on in 2024.
