Vellon has dual-threat abilities and is really good at not only being dangerous as a runner but using his legs to create more time to throw the ball. Vellon has a smooth release and makes really accurate throws down the field. One thing that Vellon demonstrates on film that not many other New York QBs have shown is deep throws over the middle of the field that either split defenders or over a level of zone coverage. Vellon’s strong performance this season make him a must have player in our rankings and helped him pick up an offer and commitment to Franklin Pierce.
