Jett can solidify himself as one of the greatest QB in Phillipsburg’s history if they can pull off one more win next weekend. On the road to that matchup, Jett and co. took down a talented Ramapo in a dominant fashion. In the 35-6 victory, Jett didn’t have to do much through the air as he torched Ramapo’s defense on the ground. A near impossible force to stop, Jett was able to take off for 149 rushing yards and an astonishing 4 touchdowns on the ground. With a combination of designed and unscripted runs, Jett was able to evade danger and use his feet to out run Ramapo defenders. Ramapo just had no answer for Jett up the middle. Phillipsburg’s O-line was moving the defenders at will, opening up huge holes for Jett to run through. Jett ran the ball with authority, and he will need to continue running that way if they want to take down Winslow.

A quarterback that I have been hyping up for over a year now, Jett Genovese Jett Genovese 5'10" | 200 lbs | QB Phillipsburg | 2025 State NJ is ready to lay it all out on the field in 2024 to bring his team a state title. In my mind, Jett is the full package. He has all of the skills necessary to not only excel in New Jersey but also at the next level. Jett is one of those QBs you can never lose faith in, as he always has the ability to extend the play and avoid danger. Jett’s mind is moving a mile a minute when he is in the pocket as he’s watching the field open up and reacting to the rush closing in on him. Jett is nimble in the backfield, as he’s able to step up or out of the pocket to avoid the pressure and maintain his composure to complete the throw. Jett can be dangerous on the run as well, as his agility gives him that slight edge in the open space against less explosive defenders.
Throwing for 1351 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023, Jett impressed with his throwing mechanics as well as his chemistry with his receivers. Jett showed phenomenal timing with his route runners as he showed he can anticipate when his receivers would break open. I fully expect Jett to land himself with a D1 team by season’s end.

Last offseason I viewed Jett Genovese Jett Genovese 5'10" | 200 lbs | QB Phillipsburg | 2025 State NJ as one of the most underrated players not only in the division but within the state. 2023 showed us he was not only a top tier talent but is also now receiving the recognition he deserves. Responsible for 17 touchdowns last fall, Jett found the end zone 14 times through the air and ran it in himself another 3 times. Showing flashes of greatness and composure, especially when under duress, Jett was able to maintain his eyes downfield, get his body into the throw, and deliver dimes into tight windows. Jett is a Houdini of sorts, as his mobility within the pocket allowed him to extend the play and give himself more time to make a play when it looked like he was on the verge of getting sacked. Throwing for 1351 yards last season, don’t be surprised if Jett creeps towards or exceeds the 2000 yard mark.

Embarking this fall on his third straight season as the Liner’s starting quarterback is Jett Genovese Jett Genovese 5'10" | 200 lbs | QB Phillipsburg | 2025 State NJ . Last fall Genovese was 88/160 for 1351 yards with 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, while slashing 54/185/3 on the ground. Genovese’s effectiveness as a quarterback beings with his superior footwork, particularly how he moves backwards extremely well, and keen sense of pocket awareness. Reminding me of a less-risky gunslinger, Genovese has a quick release and keeps his eyes downfield at all times and is not looking to scramble. He has the ability to place the ball in great spots on fades and is solid when he moves around. There is something to his game that just screams “confidence” to me. If there is one critique for Genovese to take is that when rolling out to focus on resetting his feet to deliver throws similar to those when he has a clean pocket.

The junior QB out of Phillipsburg, Jett Genovese Jett Genovese 5'10" | 200 lbs | QB Phillipsburg | 2025 State NJ , has been one of the best quarterbacks in western New Jersey throughout the season. He is a true playmaker and is able to make a play out of what appears to be nothing. With 985 passing yards and 12 touchdowns, Jett has been very impressive in the pocket and on the run. One of Jett’s greatest attributes is he rarely gets flustered in the pocket. He stays calm and collected and delivers the ball on target with pressure all around him. Jett is a D1 QB in the making.
