One of the best quarterback performances I saw amongst underclassmen at the Augustana Prospect Camp on Saturday, came from Pierre T.F. Riggs 2028 Jerren Deal Jerren Deal 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB/WR Pierre T.F. Riggs | 2028 State SD . His accuracy was the first skillset that popped out at the Augustana Prospect Camp as Jerren showed it off not only well from the pocket, but even better with his throws outside of the pocket. He also showed that his release has gotten even quicker since the season ended from the reps I got to watch. Jerren shows that he surely could be a climber amongst the quarterback group in this 2028 class who showed an eye-catching first camp performance in our eyes.

Jerren came out of nowhere for the Govs in his sophomore season and it ended at the Dakota Dome with another 11AA title for Pierre T.F. Riggs. He showed off the position flexibility that could be there for him at the next-level as the 6’1 170 pounder started his season at wide receiver that impresses with his seperation and imprivisng ability as a route runner that can adjust on the fly. He’s got quicker as the season went on with his release on intermediate routes as that was evident watching him the state champiosnhip game. He enters as one of our highest QB debuts as our QB6 in the class that we expect to level higher very soon.

Looking ahead at the 2026 season, the Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors return their gunslinger that won them yet another 11AA State Championship in 2025 in Jerren Deal Jerren Deal 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB/WR Pierre T.F. Riggs | 2028 State SD . If you watched the 11AA State Championship game last year, you will see why we have a high grade on this young man as a new additon to this 2028 class. He’s got an encourgaging football IQ that is only going to continue to grow, he’s elusive with his legs making throws outside of the pocket and showed you quickly in Vermillion last November that he has excellent arm strength and ball placement. Going to surely have our attention on the Govs QB1 in these upcoming seasons.
