Reed is a big and physical wide receiver that makes an impact at all three levels. He showcases the versatility to play on the outside and in the slot. Good play strength and contact balance, the senior wideout is a threat with the ball in his hands. Reed is sudden off the line with good speed to win on a vertical plane and is a solid route runner using double moves to freeze defensive backs.

Reed possesses true speed. His rapid speed allows him to get downfield quickly and makes him extremely profitable as a deep threat. Not only does Reed possess top-tier speed, but he is also able to change up his pace rather than truly relying on his speed to win. He can go through the gears extremely well altering his acceleration to the situation he is in. Reed can show patience before getting into top gear, but, he also shows extremely good stop/start ability. He then possesses the blue-chip explosiveness to burst into his step creating separation before the defender has been able to react.

Reed is an explosive playmaker who is a threat to score and rip off long gains on any reception. Given his speed off the line and his second gear, Reed is fast through his route and possesses burst out of his breaks to consistently create separation. He is dangerous on double moves thanks to his route running and suddenness, which allow him to get open downfield while challenging defenses vertically. Reed has superb hands and is a natural hands catcher who is very reliable at securing ball.
