Blackman’s Jayden Sanders Jayden Sanders 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Blackman | 2028 State TN has been on my radar for a minute. The 2028 prospect has shown flashes of being a great high school safety, but so far this season, he’s been much more of a consistent player.

Over the past two weeks, he’s made or been in on nearly 10+ tackles. He also had a big pick-six last week in a 47-0 win. Sanders had a very strong offseason, becoming more skilled and building his body.

He now stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 185 pounds. Sanders is lean but is a rangy, athletic safety who is terrific in the back end of Blackman’s defense. The junior improved his tackling this offseason, which allows Will Hester to move him around the field.

He has very good length for the position and is likely right there around at 6-foot-2 now heading into his junior season.

He has the length, athleticism and natural movement ability to make plays on the ball consistently against both the run and pass.

As he gets more comfortable and continues to add weight to his frame, he could reach a new level of consistency and playmaking ability as a junior patrolling the backend of the secondary for the defense.

He is an attractive safety recruit currently flying under the radar that has a lot more potential to tap into and if he does that, he could see the recruiting interest begin to heat up late this fall.

Jayden Sanders Jayden Sanders 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Blackman | 2028 State TN transferred from Middle Tennessee Christian to Blackman over the summer and has been an impact player all season. The 6-foot-1 safety has plenty of length, athleticism and football IQ to play the strong safety position.

He plays sound coverage in the back end of the Blackman defense, but can also walk up in the box. Sanders is a good tackler who does a good job with his angles to avoid letting the opposition get extra yards.

As he becomes more explosive, he has the length and movement skills to track down ball carries and make a tackle.

He is still improving in the coverage aspect, but shows encouraging signs to be an impact player when he attacks downhill on targets from his zone.

He showed an encouraging baseline skillset that the 2028 prospect can keep developing in his high school career.
