Past Analysis: It is difficult for opposing defenders to tackle Jayden since he is so quick off his feet, he is only able to be taken down in a blink of an eye. The junior is able to make stellar sharp cuts on the open field and can also catch the ball well off routes. With his speed and outstanding agility, it makes it nearly impossible for the defense to stop him from either getting open or finding a running lane for him to fill. Expect another spectacular season for the upcoming senior this fall 2022 season.

End of Season:

Jayden Newsome finished the 2022 season running 182 carries for 1,637 rushing yards & 29 rushing touchdowns in 13 games played (9 yards per carry). It is safe to say my prediction was correct for Jayden. What makes Jayden so special is his dual-threat on the offense as he is just as deadly receiving the football as he is on a rushing attempt. The area that Jayden specializes in is his sharp jukes past incoming defenders when running the football. His textbook footwork and being quick off his feet help him make incredible crafty moves to blow by multiple defenders. As of January, there have been no public offers announced by Jayden but I hope he is able to still find a way onto a college team in the future.

Another senior running back that impressed me this past week was Jayden Newsome Jayden Newsome 5'6" | 165 lbs | RB Shelby Valley | 2023 State KY from Shelby Valley. Newsome helped lead his team to a 28-21 victory over Middlesboro, running the ball 31 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Newsome has impressive vision as a ball carrier with the ability to find the running lane quickly and also find cut back lanes in the open field. Once he turns the corner or gets into the open field, Newsome shows the speed to run away from the defense to break off on long runs. He also has the elusiveness to make defenders miss and can cut back across the field when needed. Newsome doesn’t currently have any reported offers but he should be on the radars of college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level. Jayden and the Wildcats will have a tough third round playoff match up on the road this Friday against Beechwood.

The senior running back had yet another big game on Friday, carrying the ball 25 times for 194 yards and five touchdowns while also catching one pass for 11 yards. Newsome has great vision and hits the running lane in a hurry. Once he hits the hole and gets to the second level, he has the second gear/burst to run away from a defense. He also has the ability to make cuts in the open field to make defenders miss. Newsome also made an impact on defense, recording seven tackles on Friday. Jayden doesn’t currently hold any official offers but college coaches should be giving him a closer look as he has the talent to play somewhere at the college level.
