Watching Battlefield during the preseason it became clear that Jayden Blackstock Jayden Blackstock 5'10" | 215 lbs | LB Battlefield | 2026 State VA was going to be their featured back. He runs hard with both power and vision, he is having an excellent senior season for the Bobcats. He had back breaking score against Gainesville last night ending the Cardinals hope of an upset. Blackstock looks fresh and ready to lead Battlefield to a potential title game. They would be wise to feature him more as the weather gets colder, he will not be easy to bring down.

Blackstock has been a good linebacker the past two seasons for Battlefield and now it seems he is finally getting his opportunity on offense. Watching their scrimmage against Madison he had some nice patient runs. He really looked comfortable going up against what should be a formidable Warhawks defense in 2025.

The second generation star has already been an impact linebacker for the Bobcats, now may be a chance for him to shine on offense. He looked really smooth and comfortable in a lot of 1v1 reps lining at running back. With the graduation of Sage Davis Sage Davis 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Battlefield | 2025 State VA Coach Hatfield may need more options in his backfield.

Blackstock is really coming on as Battlefield march for a title continues, he racked in 7 tackles and 1 interception in their regular season finale against Patriot. A rematch with the Pioneers is looming and Blackstock looks poised for another big game.

A sleeper in Battlefield’s loaded 2026 class is linebacker Jayden Blackstock Jayden Blackstock 5'10" | 215 lbs | LB Battlefield | 2026 State VA . The young man knows how to shed blocks and get to the ball carrier, his instincts and vision are amongst the best I have watched at the linebacker position. Like a number of his teammates, Blackstock has not played the full game yet as all of the Bobcats victories have been in blowout fashion. He will have more than enough opportunities with matchups against Gainesville and Patriot lingering.

The son of a Virginia legend and NFL pro Daryl, Jayden Blackstock Jayden Blackstock 5'10" | 215 lbs | LB Battlefield | 2026 State VA already looks the part. At outside linebacker he seems to always be the first one to the football regardless of where the play is going.

A sideline to sideline type of player, Blackstock has a 3.5 GPA and is poised for a big junior season. He will move to the middle this fall and anchor what should be a top 5 regionally ranked defense.

Jayden has good vision and reaction to read plays at the snap keeping his feet moving and ready to attack with with solid lateral agility and acceleration to fill the gap. He displays good strength and contact balance to keep his feet while filling his gap with good tackling ability to bring a ball carrier down. Solid Zone processing in pass coverage with the ability to disrupt the passing lane and display the ability to catch the ball to make interceptions. Solid blitz ability to put pressure on the QB to rush the pass.
