Expert Analysis

According to MaxPreps, Battle carried the football 84 times for 668 yards and seven touchdowns during nine game last season. He shows first-step explosion, especially on the red-zone highlights where he hits the crease immediately without hesitation. There’s multiple chunk players including a long touchdown from midfield and a 60-plus yard gain. Perimeter speed is good but not elite. He can win angles, but needs to work on top-end speed. There’s a few plays where he presses in one direction before planting and heading back inside, showing that his cutback instruct is strong.
Battle is decisive as a runner, makes one cut and gets vertically quickly. He doesn’t waste movement and has efficient agility. For a back his size, his contact balance is impressive. Battle consistently runs through arm tackles and maintains forward lean. He runs behind his pads and falls forward on a regular basis.
I think he has room to add 10-15 pounds to his lean build. Definitely a solid change-of-pace back type of prospect at the next level.
