He’s rated as a combo o-line/d-line player, but I’ll focus on the defensive lineman side for this article. He’s a space-eating, interior defensive lineman who has the build that you want inside. Martin’s highlights show him handling the traffic in the middle and helping his teammates make plays at or near the line of scrimmage. As a run-defender, Martin absorbs double-teams without getting displaced. He does a nice job of holding his ground and maintaining gap integrity. Definitely a solid clogger at this point. There’s not a lot to go on as far as how he looks as a pass rusher. I would like to see him become more explosive off the football. It was a short sample size, so right now he’s in that category of “run-stuffer”. Not a bad place to be this early in his career.
