Childrey is the definition of a Take-it-to-the-house threat every time he touches the football. With exceptional speed and the ability to hit another gear in the open field, Childrey has the kind of explosiveness that instantly changes the momentum of a game. Once he finds a crease, defenders quickly realize they are not going to catch him, and it almost makes you hear Chris Berman’s famous line, “HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY!” every time he breaks free. His acceleration, big-play ability, and natural instincts with the ball in his hands make him one of the most dangerous playmakers on the field and a player that defenses must account for on every snap.

Jaron Childrey Jaron Childrey 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2030 KY put together an impressive in-game performance, showcasing his explosiveness and playmaking ability every time he touched the ball. He ran with great energy and vision, using his sharp, decisive cuts to make defenders miss in space and create big play opportunities. His touchdown on Saturday was a direct result of that elusiveness and acceleration, as he was able to break free and finish the play. Throughout the game, he consistently looked like one of the most dangerous players on the field with the ball in his hands.

As a receiver, Childrey was just as effective, displaying clean, disciplined route running and the ability to create clear separation from defenders. He made himself an easy target for his quarterback by getting in and out of his breaks efficiently, and his hands were reliable when the ball came his way. His overall performance reflected a well-rounded skill set, combining athleticism with technical precision, and he stood out as a dynamic offensive threat from start to finish.

Look at the rosters of all the 8th Grade teams in this year’s KYMSFA BOTR, I feel Region 4 was the deepest and most complete team. However, sometimes that doesn’t guarantee victory. After lighting it up and causing a running clock in its 46-6 victory over Region 3 in the opening game, they ultimately fell to Region 2 in the championship game by the final of 26-24.

Meece Middle School is traditionally very well represented in the BOTR tournament and this year was no different. Talented Athlete Jaron Childrey Jaron Childrey 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2030 KY lived up to his billing over the weekend. Part of a talented group of skill players and offense dominated by the running game, Childrey still managed to get loose and brought in a TD pass in the opening game.

He not only separates well before the catch, but once the ball is in his hands, he shifts into another gear making him a constant big play threat.

Jaron shows strong, reliable hands and runs crisp, polished routes that allow him to create consistent separation. What sets him apart is his explosiveness and home-run ability. Every touch has the potential to turn into a major gain, as he can take the top off a defense or break a short play into something special. Overall, Jaron is a dynamic receiver with elite playmaking ability and the tools to impact the game at any moment.

Jaron Childrey Jaron Childrey 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2030 KY has proven to be a very complete Running Back over his middle school career. From lowering his shoulder to deliver blocks, to having very good speed and quickness while running in open field, to even lining up in the slot to catch passes–he can do it all. He and the Briar Jumpers won the Region 3 Championship before bowing out in the KYMSFA Division 3 Semi-finals. For his efforts Childrey was named a  KYMSFA Division 3 Honorable Mention Regional POY nominee, and was selected to both the Region 4 team in the Battle of the Regions and the All-Star Classic.
