About Jariel
Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Committed to the University of North Carolina, Jariel had a senior season I’m sure he will never forget. On the season, Cobb ran for over 1500 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns, with a 10.7 average yards per carry, meaning that every time he got the ball on a rushing attempt, on average, it was going to be a first down. That is an incredible statistic. As a runner, Jariel shows excellent vision with the football in his hands. On numerous occasions, Jariel slips tackles for big gains on both interior and perimeter runs. Once in the open field, Jariel shows excellent burst and great speed to routinely make big runs and touchdowns.

One of Bill Belichick’s earliest offers, Cobb is headed to Chapel Hill to play for the Tar Heels after stepping up his game as a senior. He went over 1,500 yards in just 9.5 games before having his season cut short. Cobb has a unique, high-knee running style that makes him difficult to bring down on first contact. He also has elite speed and cutting ability, traits that should lead to him contributing in the return game at the next level.

The Air Force commit has Reidsville’s rushing offense humming in 2024. He’s averaging nearly 10 yards a carry and has already eclipsed the 1,200 yards he had last year, despite having afew games during which he didn’t get many touches. In his last two, he’s had over 400 yards on 50 carries with seven touchdowns.
