James is another prospect who has risen in the rankings with each update. These recent rankings he moved up 45 total spots to being #30 overall and the #1 overall TE prospect. A player I liked early on the fall but needed to see live first and when I did this spring James more than impressed. A big target frame standing all of 6’5″ and 230lbs. A natural athlete, he is smooth in his motion and looks the part. At TE James can play split out as a big WR and win 50/50 balls. Or play inline, work up the seam and be an impact blocker.
Recently committing to UVA, James is a steal for them and a gem of a prospect that I could see more schools trying to come in late on him after his senior season.
James is a player who is starting to really take of as a prospect and is getting interest from big time programs. A player I liked a lot back in the fall, he continues to stand out and shoot up boards. Recently he picked up offers from UVA, Gtech, UMD, Northwestern as well as being at Indiana for their Spring Game. James has all the physical tools you like to see from a TE. Great size, physical, strong, and athletic. I recently saw James at the PRZ PA 7v7 where he was unguard-able at times. Working the middle of the field and uses his big frame and leaping ability to go up and moss defenders time and time again. Expect more P4 schools to take notice of James’ skill set this spring/summer and could see some of the top programs in the country start taking a strong look at him.
James is a great body kid who absolutely looks the part. The #9 overall ATH and Top 100 overall prospect in the latest rankings, he is making a strong debut. He is a game changer at both TE & DE and could see him being recruited at either depending on fit, scheme, colleges personal eval.
With that nice size and build, at 6’5″ and a muscled up 230lbs. A nice overall athlete as he is a basketball player also. At TE, James can play split out as a big WR and shows he can win 50/50 balls consistently. He can also play inline and work up the seam as a mis-match for LBs and Safety. At DE, James comes hard off the edge and is a backfield disruptor, using his length & strength to his advantage.
I expect James to be a prospect who blows up as more colleges get eyes on him. With a 4.2 GPA as well, all high academic schools should be on him as well. A player I am excited to see more off this offseason as he is an offer kid for sure.
