Flim Room Fridays (8/15): Top Defensive Prospects Of The Week
Jamerrion McIntosh is an explosive DL/EDGE prospect out of Andalusia who put together a big sophomore season last...
“At 6’1 245, McIntosh causes a ton of issues for opposing offenses at the line of scrimmage. He’s a productive pass rusher/run defender who uses his quickness and strength to beat OL and make big plays behind the line of scrimmage. McIntosh is terrific against the run, often beating multiple blockers to take down the RB.
I love watching McIntosh rush the passer. He’s a force on the interior with violent hands and a high motor, using them to work around offensive linemen and hustle after the quarterback. I’m really impressed with his pursuit/closing speed- he’ll run down the ball carrier from the opposite side of the field to create stops, it’s wild to watch.”
McIntosh was a really productive piece of Andalusia’s defensive front last season, dominating as a pass rusher against some talented offenses across the state. Be sure to watch out for him moving forward- he has a huge year ahead of him.
McIntosh plays the game with physical intent. He thrives on contact at the point of attack, using strength, balance, and a violent initial strike to knock blockers off rhythm. His motor runs hot, willingly attacking double teams, chasing plays down from the backside, and converting second-chance sack opportunities through effort.
Despite his size, he moves well and shows good closing speed, allowing him to finish plays once he breaks free. With a solid first step and a relentless play style, McIntosh projects as a high-effort interior or edge presence who creates disruption through toughness and persistence.
10/6/25: Stout, low center of gravity. Explosive first step. Feisty at the point of attack. Impressive play strength, drives blockers backwards and cuts off rush angles. Edge setter with some juice as a pass rusher. Lacks prototype length. Holds no offers, but plays hard, well-rounded, and strong.
