Expert Analysis
Brandon Stockdale | Prep Redzone Scout
Brown was active throughout the night for the Stars, making tackles on jet sweeps that Chesnee tried to run and did a good job of setting the edge. He has good size and can read and react to what an offense wants to do.
He normally lines up at defensive end, but when the game got tight in the fourth quarter, the Stars used him at running back on third-and-short late to end the game in the fourth quarter. He was able to use his big frame and get the tough yards when his team needed him.
Ramsey on Brown: “I cannot believe that kid’s a sophomore. Once he gets to be a senior, every coach in the coach will want him, he’s a football player. If he got to play full-time running back for us, he’d probably be our best running back. If he played (full-time) defensive end for us, he’d probably be there. He could play safety. To be a sophomore and accept the role as a leader, he continues to get better. We put a lot of things on him. He’s having to communicate calls. But he’s all over the field defensively. He’s only going to continue to get better and I’m glad that we’ve got him for this year and then to think that we got him for two more years, I can only imagine where he’s going to be.”
