is a weapon to watch out for this upcoming season. He is very athletic and versatile to make plays in multiple different ways. He is shifty and explosive with the ball in his hands. Good on a vertical plane, Parr uses his size and vertical explosiveness to make plays above the rim.

is a prospect that I’m very high on coming out of the middle school ranks. Parr is an exciting prospect that used speed, vision and body control to earn a West TN All-Star Game selection–one of four from Northview. The 6-foot, 140-pounder was lined up in various spots during the season but looked at home in the slot. Due to his speed and quickness, he had more than his fair share of runs or short passes that turned into something because of his ability to run. Jetsweeps, End-arounds and even direct handoffs were nothing out of the norm for Parr this season, as he did his part to help Northview capture the 2023 West Tennessee Small Conference Regular Season Championship. Parr is very thin at this point, and spending some serious time in the weight room will help him put on some muscle in order to help buffer the beating of a varsity season.

is also a name that people in West Tennessee should start to get familiar with. At 6-foot and 140 pounds, he’s another wide receiver with significant length and ability. Parr is a multi-sport athlete that knows how to use his natural athleticism to get up and get the ball. After finishing third in the high jump at the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association State Championship Meet last spring as a seventh-grader, he put an exclamation point on his middle school football career by helping the Choctaws to a West Tennessee Small Conference regular season championship.

In western Tennessee, Northview Middle School finished the 2023 season with an unblemished record and WTAC Class A District Championship. While the school itself may be smaller in population–roughly 415 total students in 2023-2024–the contributions the Choctaws got from Ja’khai Parr, were anything but small. Parr was a spark of excitement every time the 6-foot, 140-pounder had the ball in his hands. Whether lined up in the backfield or split out wide (which is where I feel he will be long term), he used his elite speed to make a big play happen. On top of his game-changing speed, he also had trustworthy hands and the vision of a running back, which allowed him to pad his YAC stats.
