Previously viewed as a LB projection, but might be a better projection as a RB all things considered. Strong, physical player with impressive mass at 5’11 205. Has good burst for his body type. Is capable of creating yards for himself. Should be viewed as a physical, cloud of dust runner. He is a true hammer and has a high floor as a short yardage back.

I have always viewed Orton as a LB projection, but he is getting a lot of run in the backfield as a senior, and North Cobb Christian is reaping the rewards of that. He is a strong, well-built player at 5’11 205, designed to handle a high volume of carries. He is a tough tackle and can wear down defenses, yet still flashes the finesse and twitch required to get himself out of tough spots. He has been a fun watch to start the year.

An athlete is what Jake Orton Jake Orton 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB/LB North Cobb Christian | 2027 State GA is, he can run the ball with the best of the best, he can tackle on the defense, he can force plays in his teams favor and make plays. Orton has the compact build that brings a lot of physicality and energy and I believe you are going to see a next level from him in the fall of 2026, college coaches, keep eyes on Orton!

Orton is a highly productive player on both sides of the ball who has made some noise for the last few years. There are plenty of reps at LB here, and there is still a chance he ends up at that spot. He is stout, strong, and can thump downhill. At his size, I think he projects out best at RB. Everything that makes him a good LB translates to offense. He rolls downhill and can thump at the point of attack. High floor, physical player on both sides of the ball who has a few years of production under his belt to validate. Has a chance to debut on our rankings, whether that be as an RB, LB, or ATH.
