Expert Analysis
Hunter Tierney | Prep Redzone Scout
Jones brings a ton of physicality to the interior and plays with the kind of motor that wears offensive linemen down over four quarters. At 6’2” and 285 pounds, he’s built low to the ground with natural leverage and surprising quickness for his size. He’s constantly redirecting and finding his way to the football — whether he’s fighting through double teams or chasing from the backside. His hands are sharp, and he shows real power. What makes him especially tough is how hard he goes every snap. He doesn’t just take up space — he actively collapses pockets and disrupts rhythm.

Jones is rapidly rising up D1 recruiting boards after a great junior season being voted Region Defensive Player of the Year. Has continued to add good weight while maintaining his athleticism and mobility now at 6’2” 285 lbs. Tough to block coming from the interior with a great ability to disengage from contact and redirect to the ball. Shows he can stop and stack blockers at the POA and fight through double teams using his natural strength and active hands. Runs extremely well for his size flashing the ability to work laterally down the line and chase from the backside or downfield. Effective as a run stopper and a pass rusher that can drive opponents back to quickly collapse the pocket from the inside. Picked up his first offer from New Mexico in late January and has since added four more D1 programs to his list. Expect many more P4 programs to offer as the recruiting cycle progresses.
