The first-team all-district safety reads the action well and flies to the football once he quickly diagnoses the play. Dodd plays with physicality. In addition to getting downhill against the rush, he can stick with receivers in coverage. As an 11th-grader, 21 of Dodd’s 30.5 tackles were solo stops. He intercepted four passes, and was credited with two passes defended, a forced fumble and 1.5 tackles for loss. Dodd also flashed ability returning kicks and punts.
