The NC State commit missed most of last season due to injury, but by all reports, is healthy and ready to go for his senior year. What we did see last year, was impressive. Jacob displays strong mechanics, footwork, and shows a good ability to feel pressure in the pocket and make big plays off improvisation. Jacob is also committed to play baseball for NC State, and should help the Raiders back to the playoffs again this year.

Physically, Smith has the tools to be the best quarterback in the state, with a huge frame and rocket for an arm. He needs to improve his accuracy after completing less than half of his attempts as a sophomore, but the potential is there. While his throwing motion can be a bit unconventional at times, he flashes the ability to change arm slots to avoid defenders and has a natural feel for moving within the pocket.
