About Jacob

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is a pro style pocket passer. I am accurate, on time, fearless and calm. I feel I accel in putting my team in a position to win everytime I am on field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a calm and collected passer and I feel I am my best when I step up and naviugate the pocket to find receivers.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I also play basketball and baseball. I also worked a summer camp and Saint Ignatius and worked Open House.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel that I've learned how to fail and deal with adversity. I have also learned how to command the huddle and the game.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I was in 8th grade I partially tore my achilles and while recovering from that a non cancerous tumor grew in my heel, formally known as an aneurysmal bone cyst. It took two surgeries to get out of my heel and another to close the incision. I ended up being out for 13 months. This injury taught me discipline, patience and resilience.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a place that I can call home and a place where I will have an opportunity to play. I also would want my future to be set up after my playing career.

It was a rough-and-tumble season for St. Ignatius, but one bright spot was Jacob Mikin Jacob Mikin Jacob Mikin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB St. Ignatius | 2028 State OH – a 6-foot-1, 185-pound quarterback with a quick release and strong arm. Mikin throws with good zip and velocity in the short and intermediate game and flashes ability to make tough throws with defenders in his face. He will be a name to watch in Columbus on Saturday.
