About Jacob

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Jacob Cruz plays with a complete, four-phase impact — physicality, intelligence, effort, and leadership all in one. On defense, he’s a downhill, high-IQ linebacker who reads plays quickly and closes with urgency. He’s strong at taking on blocks, keeping leverage, and finishing tackles with authority. His pursuit angles and burst to the ball show a player who studies film and anticipates well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Jacob Cruz approaches the game with a relentless, disciplined mentality. He’s highly coachable and takes pride in doing the little things right — from studying film and learning assignments to holding teammates accountable. His mindset is built on earning respect through effort, not talk.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

On defense Jacob has taken on all leadership roles, he’s dependable, vocal, and sets the standard for effort and accountability.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Transferring schools is never easy — it means adapting to new coaches, systems, and expectations while earning the trust of teammates all over again. For Jacob Cruz, the transition has been a test of character as much as talent. Instead of being discouraged, he’s used the experience to strengthen his mindset and reinforce his work ethic. Jacob understands that success doesn’t come overnight.

What type of college are you looking for?

Schools that value grit, character, and versatility over just raw measurables. Programs where coaches invest in player growth and reward effort and football IQ.
