About Jackson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play fast, physical, and instinctive football. I diagnose plays quickly, close space with urgency, and finish with violence. Whether it’s stopping the inside run, setting the edge, blitzing, or dropping into man or zone coverage, I take pride in being a complete linebacker who makes plays all over the field. My film backs it up — I’m a tone-setter with a motor that doesn’t shut off.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I was raised on discipline, toughness, and accountability. As the son of a retired Marine and high school football coach, leadership and preparation have been part of my life since day one. I’ve already developed a love for film study because I believe winning starts with preparation. I bring a focused, team-first mentality every day and strive to elevate the standard around me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Off the field, I take pride in my academics and character. I’ve been recognized on the Honor Roll and nominated for Student of the Month for leadership and work ethic in the classroom. I believe who you are when no one’s watching matters just as much as what you do under the lights.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership skills through football, family, and faith. Growing up in a disciplined household taught me how to lead by example — through my effort, consistency, and attitude. As a two-year varsity player and team leader, I’ve learned how to communicate, bring energy to my teammates, and stay calm under pressure.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes — one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was transferring high schools after my sophomore year. Leaving behind my teammates, coaches, and a program where I had success wasn’t easy. But my family made the move for a great opportunity, and I saw it as a chance to grow. I had to quickly earn the trust of a new coaching staff and teammates while continuing to develop as a player and leader.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that aligns with the values I was raised on — discipline, accountability, and relentless work ethic. I want to be part of a football program and coaching staff that holds a high standard, both on and off the field, and pushes their players to grow as men, not just athletes.

He plays with incredible vision and play recognition when it comes to pass coverage and getting in pursuit. Jackson will fit this defense like a glove and I am excited to see what he can put on tape with a great team like Watterson.

Reynolds is a complete game changer at the linebacker position. He transfers from Lancaster to reigning D3 state champions Bishop Watterson. Reynolds has faced stiff competition from the OCC-Buckeye and produced a great season stat line. He covers incredible ground as he’s a true sideline-to-sideline athlete. He can cover the middle of the field and, on occasion, can break off his middle zone to run with a leaking receiver. He’s physical and will bring back that defensive energy that Watterson showed last season.

Jackson had a very good Freshman season in 2023. His great play was a bright spot in the 5-6 season of the Lancaster Golden Gales. He plays as an OLB. Against the pass, he shows great awareness in zone as he reads the QB. He shows good closing speed after the pass is thrown before making the tackle on the WR preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the run, he shows great football intelligence as he keys and diagnoses the play. He plays with excellent range before making the tackle outside the tackle box preventing a first down.
