About Jackson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is best summarized by my coach: “Jackson Grantz is that pure athlete that we all dream about coaching. He has speed and tenacity that make him very impactful for his team on defense and offense. Jackson also brings another level of athleticism to the game and that is with his kicking and punting. This young man is a complete ball player. He will contribute any way you ask him.”

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a multi-sport PSA and have always loved competing. Playing various sports has given me the ability to learn how to be a good teammate, a competitor, and a leader. My competitive edge comes from my work ethic and 'No excuse" mentality. My peak performance is when I'm under pressure. I feel in the zone and calm in these situations. Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in my church youth group. I’ve also received the Principal’s Award and the Herb McDowell Character Award. I spend most of my time in the gym, running track, and practicing football when not spending quality time with my family and friends.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I created a weekly bible study called “Christ’s Back Porch” to lead worship at home with high school aged young men to help them build a relationship with Jesus and positively impact their lives. I also attend various types of churches to gain different perspectives on worship. I’ve been our team captain the past two years and participate on our football team leadership committee.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve been blessed and face all my challenges by handing them over to God and trust his path for me. I wake up early work hard in the gym before school to avoid injury and gain strength. I work hard in the classroom to maintain straight A’s, and lean on Jesus, family, and friends to keep me grounded and healthy.

What type of college are you looking for?

After running so well in Dallas, TX this past summer at the Rivals Combine (4.4 laser 40yd dash), I realized that I now have the size, work ethic, and skill to play Safety at the highest level. After kicking 50+ yard field goals consistently in practice to contribute at the highest level. Academics are important to me and I would love to find a college team with the same desire and commitment.
