is a physical and dependable lineman who brings toughness and versatility to both sides of the ball. At center, he shows strong awareness and command, consistently making the right reads and helping organize the offensive line. His snap-to-step quickness allows him to engage defenders efficiently and establish leverage early. Costello plays with a solid base and uses his strength well to anchor against interior pressure. On the defensive side, he brings a gritty presence at defensive tackle, showing the ability to clog running lanes and absorb double teams. His motor stands out on film, as he works through contact and continues to pursue the ball. Costello’s physicality and consistency are key reasons he is gaining recognition early in the 2028 class. With continued development in explosiveness and hand technique, he has the potential to become a dominant force in the trenches.

- Self-reports a 4.332 GPA. Formerly at Bishop McDevitt, according to his Hudl.
- posted a mid-season tape three weeks ago, a lengthy one fully encapsulating his best reps at Center and IDL. Six minutes worth of production, great for an underclassman. Basis of this evaluation comes from said tape. DE/IDL in a traditional 3-4 look. Can shade or align head-up anywhere between the B-gaps. Some reps aligned as a true DT in a 4 down-linemen look, too. I think the young man has a future at center, however. It’s likely the position we rank him at in the coming months. A build suitable for the position. Great hand placement off the snap, great displacement of opposing defenders by the time the whistle blows. Witnessed working in trap variations that have Costello pulling (limited depth) into B-gaps to seal off a shaded IDL or even a second-level LB. IDL reps keep Costello fluid on both sides of the ball. Excited to see a complete tape out of the Trinity sophomore moving forward. He should rank well among 2028 OCs.
