North Dakota’s 2028 class has a pretty strong 1-2 punch at the quarterback position, as Ray/Powers Lake’s Jace Becker Jace Becker 6'0" | 160 lbs | QB/DB Ray/Powers Lake | 2028 State ND is one that I would expect to appeal to college coaches at camps this summer. One of the most precise deep route gunslingers we have in this class in the Dakotas, I love the growth from his freshmen to his sophomore year from a poise perspective as he seems to be cool, calm and collected with those deeper routes. The ball is also flying faster out of his hands and I am sure he’s had even more progression this offseason with his skillsets as there’s a reason why we have two quarterbacks in our top 5 overall, as this is one of the better 1-2 punches we’ve had in North Dakota in the QB group in a while.

Becker is balling out as a sophomore QB. He and the Outlaws are 4-1 on the season and Becker is putting up splashy numbers. Jace has 59 completions for 786 yards at a 61.5 completion percentage. He has rushed for 150 yards on 33 carries (4.6 YPC). Becker has 13 passing TD’s and 4 rushing TD’s. 17 TD’s in 5 games and only a 10th grader, not bad! In hoops, Jace is a returning All-Region player. He is a stat-stuffer, a do-it-all-player, an athlete, and a blood thirsty competitor.

This is Jace’s second time on our offensive Big Dogs of the Week list and I can only fathom that this sophomore is going to be on here frequently over the next coming years as the Ray-Powers Lake quarterback keeps thriving week after week. Last week against Minot Bishop Ryan was no different, the amount of poise Jace continues to show throwing outside of the pocket on all three levels was a difference maker in Minot. He found tight windows that only his WR could find as you can trell that Jace surely has chemistry with his receiving core which is especially seen with 2029 top WR target Ty Barman Ty Barman 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR/LB Ray/Powers Lake | 2029 State ND . Jace is certainly pushing the button to be the QB1 in this 2028 QB class.

Jace had an impressive week not only by the stats he put up against Turtle Mountain, but he’s shown growth in his development since watching his tape from the 2024 season. Rolling thru the tape, he shows off a deeper arm strength than his freshmen season and even more balance with his touch, as his first throw on tape showed off excellent touch and ball placement that fit right in a bucket to give his wide receiver an edge getting upfield. He’s showning already that he is one of hte most elusive quarterbacks in this 2028 class throughout the Dakotas as he gets out the pocket with ease and surely can make well-versed throws on the run. Jace is surely a North Dakota QB trending upwards in my eyes.
