Johnson was part of a deep and balanced running back room last season, and was the most efficient back of the bunch. Johnson averaged almost seven yards a carry and scored four touchdowns on just 51 carries. Johnson is one of two returning backs and should see his volume increase greatly in 2026.

I moved Johnson into the rankings while taking a second look at the film of watchlist guys and then I had the opportunity to scout him in person at our Prep Redzone NC Combine earlier in May. He impressed me with his pad level and consistency, which leads me to believe he’ll have a bigger role after a transfer to Page.

A High Point Christian transfer, Johnson has an excellent size-speed combination. If he can put it all together on the field, he’s going to be a quick riser in the rankings. His vision and burst are impressive and if he gets an opportunity, he’s going to have a strong junior year.
