Expert Analysis
Nate Wahl | Prep Redzone Scout
Izaiah was a linebacker from the Crown College Prospect Camp out of Forest City in the 2028 class that was one of the top underclassmen out of the pack of prospects that came from the Hawkeye State. The 5’11 190 pounder was one that hit the early eye test due to his frame as a well-built linebacker that boosted some explosive traits with his releases he showed off during testing and into Indy drills. He’s got a high motor that college coaches will like and shows off as one that was quite rangy for his size during the reps I watched and that’s grown in my eyes, since his sophomore season at Forest City. One of the best 2028s I saw on the defensive side of the ball on Saturday afternoon.

Izaiah Duncan emerged as a solid contributor for Forest City’s defense as a sophomore, and his growth continued to show itself with his performance in front of Crown’s coaching staff. Duncan flashed great range, being able to jam RBs on their routes, demonstrating solid footwork to stay tight on their routes, and flashing great hands, being able to swat the ball away as well as distract the RB’s ball-tracking ability when trying to catch the ball deep. With his growth over this offseason, Duncan is entering 2026 with a lot of momentum amidst growing anticipation for a potential breakout campaign in his junior season.

While it wasn’t the sunniest season at Forest City, young players on the roster gave the program hope that better days were ahead. Among that group was the sophomore linebacker Duncan. He contributed 32.0 tackles, 18 of which were solo stops. Duncan recorded 4.0 tackles for loss, a sack and recovered fumble. We can witness how he gets the job done while watching his 10th-grade highlight video. On it we see a versatile defender capable of delivering no matter where he lines up in the formation. Duncan is quick sideline to sideline and in a straight line. He embraces the game’s physicality and plays through the whistle.
