Vanterpool has been a long time contributor for Moore Catholic at this point and is the type of hybrid SS/LB that is involved in a lot of the defensive stops and successes that Moore Catholic has.
Vanterpool can rush the passer off the edge or as a blitzer but also shows the ability to drop in coverage, read the quarterback, and close on the ball in both the run game and in coverage.
Vanterpool fills the box score consistently but the tape shows a player who has a great play speed which comes from his instincts and ability to read, react, and execute.

Vanterpool was named the AA-1 defensive player of the year and he was simply a monster. He had 90 tackles, 20 TFL’s and 8.5 sacks on the year. He is one of the best pass rushing linebackers you will see in New York. Vanterpool’s versatility is something special, as he can play all over the field. His explosiveness and tackling ability are also some of the best in this entire league. Vanterpool is excellent at block shedding and constantly made plays for a Moore Catholic defense that returns plenty of talent next season.

It’s easy to see why Vanterpool is turning so many coaches’ heads. He is a very intriguing prospect with size at 6’1 and 190 and how he moves is incredible. I was impressed during his sophomore year with how well he could tackle and at the Elite V showcase he displayed his pass coverage. His ability to defend the pass has only gotten better. Vanterpool stepped up and locked down some terrific players during this event. He did a good job playing the ball and being able to break up passes and read the quarterback very well. He’s another elite 2025 prospect from Moore Catholic to keep an eye on.
